Training for animate, specifically to create animations for web

Hi All

 

Ive been trying to learn animate for a year now and ive done a couple of very expensive training courses. Non of the courses (or specifically the trainers) were able to help with preparing the animations for web specifically to go in a wordpress site and ive not managed to compete it myself despite hours of endless googling and tests and trials. Ive now got to the point where i dont have anymore time to throw at it for fruitless attempts. I really need a course that will help me dive into the javascript capabilities within animate and how to export correctly for websites especially wordpress sites. Has anybody had an experience with learning about this and how did you do it? Courses? Books?

 

Would appreciate any tips or advice as I really seem to be getting nowhere and I trying to change the direction of my career and I need to get a move on!

*New anim clip extension* for Animate CC 2017 ?

Hi,

I used to work with 'new anim clip' extension from http://www.toonmonkey.com/extensions.html.

On their website they do have a cc version (zxp file). However, the extension manager of Animate 2017 doesn't let me install it.

Please someone help about it. This is an important issue for a lot of animate users around the world. It is directly concerning for saving time and hence also money.

I really can't see any reasonable cause for not enabling this plugin to work. Thanks a lot in advance.

Can't test movie in Animate. Opens a new tab in browser instead.

When I try to test my movie (Ctrl+Enter/Ctrl+Return) it opens a new tab in my web browser instead of inside Animate. When I try to change it, 'In Browser' is checked off, and 'In Animate' is greyed out.

Bonjour,

Je galère sur un problème dont je n'arrive pas à me sortir : Je travaille avec Animate CC pour développer des applications pour android et IOS.

La version android fonctionne correctement et est sur le play store

Avec IOS, quand je teste dans Animate CC (sous windows 10) avec air pour IOS (peu importe la version entre 20 et 26), pas de problème, tout va bien.

Sur mon iPad, après publication version test en mode interpréteur, tout est encore ok

Sur mon iPad, après publication en mode test simple, c'est un écran noir et rien d'autre...

Les différents certificats sont bons, je n'ai aucune erreur de compilation, je ne comprends pas...

La même chose se produit sur un second iPad...

Si je prend le swf compilé, et que je le recolle dans un vieux fichier ipa (en changeant le nom du swf), tout fonctionne à merveille !

Pitié, quelqu'un a-t-il déjà rencontré ce problème ?

I'm struggling with a problem I can't get out of: I'm working with Animate CC to develop applications for android and IOS.

The android version works correctly and is on the play store

With IOS, when I test in Animate CC (Windows 10) with air for IOS (regardless of the version between 20 and 26), no problem, everything is fine.

On my iPad, after publishing test version in interpreter mode, everything is still ok.

On my iPad, after publication in simple test mode, it's a black screen and nothing else...

The different certificates are good, I don't have any compilation errors, I don't understand...

The same thing happens on a second iPad...

If I take the compiled swf, and paste it back into an old ipa file (by changing the name of the swf), everything works fine!

Please, has anyone ever encountered this problem?

Cannot open .fla file "an error occurred opening the file"

I'm working on a project that seems to be corrupted. Multiple .fla files cannot be opened.

 

I first started having problems with saving the files. I received an error that read something along the lines of "Could not save. Please save to a new location or with a new name." I complied, I saved multiple versions of the file with multiple names on multiple locations on my local drive, and on an external drive.

 

None of the files will open. Note even the associated RECOVER files will open. I've tried to save the .fla as a .rar and reopen with winRar. I've also saved as a .zip and opened with "The Unarchiver" neither the .xfl or .fla file will open. None of the associated RECOVER files will open either.

 

Can someone please help me? I am absolutely desperate at this point.

Drawing issues with Wacom on Animate, Illustrator and GIMP

I just got a wacom intuos pro medium and I'm experiencing some difficulties.

In animate cc when I'm draw slow or keep the pen on for a long duration, it continues to draw even when raising the pen off the tablet. It is so annoying. Can anyone help me? the drivers is up to date, i reinstalled and installed the programs multiple times, pressure sensitivity works perfectly fine. I just don't know what to do. It is not only adobe animate, it is also illustrator, gimp, and pencil 2d.

Grayed out reflective color and linear RGB, help?

I've been wanting to use reflective color to use on a project I am working on but it's grayed out as well linear RGB. Any ideas how to fix this?

Error Code 145 - problems updating Animate CC 2018

I am trying to update Animate CC 2018, partly in the hope of fixing another problem (Animate is not recognising my iPhone X since updating the firmware of that device, but will still see my iPhone 6 which I have not updated very recently) but also to stay on the latest version.  The update is failing with the following messages:

I have deleted and re-installed Creative Cloud and that makes no difference.  I'd delete Animate CC but the files referenced in these messages are not in the Adobe folders but in general components section and I'm concerned that if I delete it without solving this issue I will only compound the problem.  Also because I have re-installed CC it doesn't seem to recognise that I still have a version of Animate installed and (largely) working so would need to uninstall some other way which may not clean up the relevant folders and files.  I can see as far down the path as AudioDSP but that seems to be an executable not a folder so can't see to the bottom of the path.  But in any case the actual errors are to do with a MoveDiretoryCommand and I presume this initial failure is leading to everything else.

 

I did try to rename the folder temporarily but because it's owned by the system I don't seem to be able to make any changes.

 

Any thoughts on how to break the loop and update?

 

I am working on a Mac, OS High Sierra, version 10.13.2.

I'm trying to test out a simple animation I made after being years out of practice with flash animation. One of the problems that I'm facing however, is that when I go to test my animation, the test flash continues to loop even when I have an actionscript indicating for the animation to stop at its last frame. I know I put in the script right as the animation works just fine when I export the flash to view on its own. Does anyone else have this problem? Could the fact that Adobe Animate now requires test animations to be opened through one's web browser possibly have something do do with it?

Hello all,

 

We'd like to download the MSI file of Flash Player to perform testing in our firm environment. However, when we applied the distribution license, Adobe System rejected us and told us that Adobe is not accepting new distributors at this time.

 

We do really need to download the MSI file ASAP, please advise, thank you.

HTML5 Input Text Component 'disabled' Property?

Hi,

 

So my issue is that I don't know how to access the HTML5 Input Text Components properties

 

In particular the Input Text 'disabled' property

To get the value I just pass val() but can't seem to find appropriate command for setting the disabled property (mouseEnabled doesn't work either!)

 

what I am looking for is something like this

Stroke Weight

I'm trying to animate my character walking toward the camera. I want them to get larger as they approach the screen so i make all the frames of the cycle, then individually increase each frames size. What i don't want is to increase the stroke weight. Is there a way to make the stroke weight smaller after if scaled it up?

Mouse over event keeps triggering (Canvas)

I'm trying to create a movie clip which plays an animation on mouse over, then animates to the original state on mouse off. Basically this Original Hover Effects with CSS3.

 

I've created a movie clip called "button01_mc" which from fame 1 to 10 animates in, then from frame 10 to 20 animates out. Frame 1's labeled as "Over" and frame 10 is labeled as "Out". They both have the action "this.stop();".

 

My code on the main timeline is:

 

stage.enableMouseOver(3);

this.button01_mc.addEventListener('mouseover',over.bind(this));

this.button01_mc.addEventListener('mouseout',outF.bind(this));

 

function over(e){

this.button01_mc.gotoAndPlay('Over');

}

 

function out(e){

this.button01_mc.gotoAndPlay('Off');

}

 

It's work, playing the Over and Out animations when triggered, but if the mouse is on the object and I move the mouse to a different part of the object, it plays the animation again. So every time the mouse overs it triggers the Over animation. How can I stop that happening? I tried setting "stage.enableMouseOver(3);" to "stage.enableMouseOver(1);", but then nothing happens at all when I mouse over it.

Hi everybody, I am using the following...

 

 

 

title.p.text = 'team1' +   Number(loadedData[1][10]) + Number(loadedData[1][11])) * 100 + ' ' + '%' ;

 

 

 

my problem is that the last part   (+ '%') is  not  working, I suppose that the numerical function has not been stoped, thats why I can not see %

 

 

 

any suggestions?

How to export HTML5 Canvas to share - please help

Hi

 

I am unable to find an answer online and as someone newish to Animate CC, reams of code are not helpful!

 

I have created a short 4-second animation (.fla) of a process on an HTML5 Canvas.

 

How do I best publish or export this so I can easily share it as a movie or animation with others? Or do I need to save as one thing and then find some kind of converter site online?

 

 

Motion tween presets problem

Hi I am having error messages every time I export a swf if I have used any motion tweening in the project.

I have only used the presets as I hate the way it saves a new preset if you tweak a motion tween (WHY ADOBE WHY!!!!! I hate this new feature, why cant we just tweak it and be done?)

 

Quad EaseInOut was used... the basic of tweens. Nothing special or anything.

 

I am getting this a LOT (everytime I export an swf, which is a lot as I'm exporting swf's for AE

This may be another thread but when trying to export a level with 20 layers of motion tweening on it just crashes.

EDIT: Turns out it wont crash or give me these messages if I export a PNG seq. This is clearly a bug then yes? I need to do swf's to keep the vectors.

Javascript referencing symbols

I have an HTML5 Animate app that I am developing that has a hierarchical movieclip/symbol structure, there is no timeline based animation, all animation is implemented by JavaScript.

 

I have JS functions on the first frame of the main timeline that need to access/use symbols that are embedded in a symbol. The problem I have is accessing the embedded symbols from within various functions/methods.

 

The only thing I can get working is something like:

 

     function Something()

     {

           exportRoot.Symbol1.Symbol2.text = "replacement text";

     }

 

    

To change the text of Symbol2

 

However I am aware that using exportRoot is not ideal. To me it's like accessing global variables from within a function.

 

I have tried:

 

     function Something()

     {

          stage.Symbol1.Symbol2.text;

     }

 

This doesn't work. (but stage.Symbol1 does access the first symbol!)

 

Is there a more elegant solution?

Move entire animation into new position

Hi I want to move my animation to a new position. But if I select every frame it moves only from where my time indicator is. How can I move everything to a new position?

Cursor hugs the right edge of screen while using pen tablet

I use Windows 10 with Yiynova MSP19U pen tablet as an extended display.

I have tried fussing with screen resolutions, swapping main displays, uninstalling and reinstalling new drivers, old drivers, and the Animate program, unplugging and plugging in the hardware, however the problem persists.

The cursor works just fine in Photoshop, and I can draw in Animate if I click off onto another window and then draw directly on to the stage; but as soon as the Animate program becomes the active window the cursor immediately hugs the right side of my screen and i can't draw directly on the stage unless I use the mouse or click off the window and repeat the process.

If I move the monitor to the right side of my main display in the settings - the cursor hugs the left side.

 

The problem also happens with OpenToonz.

 

This problem has happened within the last 48 hours as my set-up was fine the past year until now.

I'm not sure what the problem is or how to fix it.
